NFL 2023 Season Highlights: Top 5 Shocking Moments from the Kickoff

Jarrid Kosa – NFL 2023 Season Highlights have been nothing short of thrilling. As the season kicked off, fans were treated to an array of plays, from jaw-dropping touchdowns to nail-biting finishes. Let’s journey back to these top 5 moments that have set the tone for this year’s NFL games.

This is easily my favorite time of the year. Living in the north east the beginning of football season brings with it perfect temperatures, crisp air, and beautiful colors from mother nature. Football also means an unhealthy amount of beer, wings, pizza, yelling, and if you are a player… PAIN!

I have never had the excitement sucked out of my soul so bad since walking out of the DMV at 16 for failing my drivers test the day after Christmas for not using my turn signal to parallel park in between two cones in a parking lot. Like I made it in there, but that lady hated happiness like Metlife hates healthy players. The first two weeks of injuries have seen many star players suffer month long and season ending injuries. I have no idea if two players have both lost their achilles tendon in the same week in the history of the NFL. I looked on Google and opened three links and didn’t find anything of substance, so I am guessing Week 1 was the first time ever. Obviously, these two injuries were amongst the most talked about in the media, especially all the hype the Jet’s had, so frustrating for that fan base and organization.

JK Dobbins, was one of many kicks to the nuts for the Ravens, an already depleted defense with the absence of Marlon Humphrey lost Marcus Williams as he tore his pec and will miss a lot of time. Ronnie Stanley and Tyler Linderbaum on the Ravens O-Line will miss a few weeks, despite all these injuries the Ravens Flock flew up to Cincinnati and defeated the Bengals. Poor Joe Burrow re-aggravated his calf and if that offensive line doesn’t step it up he will get broken again which no one wants to see. The AFC North is in fact riddled with pain as in week 1 we saw the Steelers lose two key players, Dionte Johnson and Cam Heyward. Both out multiple weeks. Last night’s MNF game took out Nick Chubb for the year, so maybe the AFC North is just cursed right now.

No it’s just NFL = NFL and Anthony Richardson learned that in his second game after suffering a concussion. I am not going to list every injury that occurred over the first two weeks, you can google that. All I am saying is that for me it has crushed my excitement for the beginning of the season. I pray for the players, and hope this barrage of injuries will stop in Week 3.

The craziest thing is that all these injuries aren’t even the worst thing to happen in the NFL. A Dolphins fan thought it was necessary to murder a Patriots fan, via head beating. Hope that Dolphins fan rots, and please, please, please don’t get into physical altercations over a sports team. If you do choose to fight someone because they like a different team than you, please don’t vote in the upcoming election as you obviously have zero brains. Prayers to the Pat’s fan who lost his life and prayers for his family. We as a people and community need to do better.

Now, let’s try to come out of the darkness. I had the Giants in week 2 survivor and it was the greatest comeback ever and most fun I ever had watching football. Shout out Danny Dimes for showing up in the second half in Arizona. That’s it, that’s the happy stuff.

As the season goes on I plan on writing a weekly blog recapping the previous week’s action, cracking a joke or two, and maybe giving out some picks for those who make it to the end of each blog. Let’s enjoy a great 2023 season!
